i dont think it is detonation. it has a little ping at like 4000 rpm then again at like 5500.... i might take it 2 exhaust shop, see what they reckon, just have a quick look

id suggest you not, as they will probably not define the problem. They will probably 'suggest" you replace your flexi/cat watever as that 'could' help the problem.
They are not mechanics. Just define your problem before your spend

does it do it under load? (eg accelerating) or will it make the noise whist reving in neutral? Exhaust leaks are usually a constant noise, rather than specific points, and will leak under any curcumstances. (eg load, no load)
