probably not much harder than any other car im guessing. take old engine out, change mounts, put new engine in and set the gearbox up - and the 8276 other things that turn to sh*t part way through.

but a 4ag isn't eligible as a engine for a classic rally car. and a 4ag needs a ploppy load of money spent on it to be even close, but then a BDA will owe you around $20k for a fresh engine.

A little off subject but there are about four 4AGE powered cars that are eligible for entry in classic classes! :!:
Current rides;
1985 AE86 Race/Rally Car
1986 Levin GT

Not Wrong actually! :roll:

There are at least three AE86 NZ new corolla rally cars that quailify for entry! If you can prove the vehicle has 'significant' rally history in NZ then it can be eligible!

At the recent Otago Classic rally there was at least one AE86 entered and eligible for points! :)

The AE86 that I navigate in is also eligible and has been owned and driven by such NZ rally greats as Bruce Herbert, Brian Morris, Ken Adamson and Geoff Ray. 8)

THIS MAKES YOU WRONG!! :twisted:

He is actually correct because he said 4AG not AE86.
If you take the engine out of one of those four cars you cannot use in in another car to be eligble.

If he said "all AE86's" he may be wrong.

had you stated there are possibly 4 eligible ae86's, your statement would have been correct.

one must not get thyne knickers twisted over a grammatical error.

the eligible AE86's are not classed as a classic, but a historic, as must have comptition history prior to 1986.

check the rules before you jump down my throat, please.

the point here is a 4age in an escort is a good move

the 2lt pinto is heavy, old and needs mods to match the 4age in power, the RS2000 2ltr was only 110 hp..... the stock cortina one is more like 90
