settuping up 16v 4age fuel lines [help quick!!]

Postby l1ttle_d3vil » Thu Dec 30, 2004 10:34 pm

hey there, need some answers on this as soon as possible so any advice would be really helpful!!

whats the best way to run the fuel lines on a 4age which is replacing a k-series engine?
ive been told the best way is to use the original 3k feeder line as the return line then run a new line for the feeder for the 4age but i got a couple of questions...

on my fuel tank there are 3 lines going in to it - a breather (looks like its about 3/8th wide) and two smaller hoses, maybe about 6mm. one of them must be the feeder line from the 3k, but whats the other one? they won't both be feeders would they? (the 3k that was in there had twincarbs if it matters)
can i just use one of these smaller lines as a feeder to the 4age? or does the new feeder line have to be 3/8 hose?

any help would be much appreciated. cheers. :D

The reason you run a new feeder line is EFI run much higher pressures. EFI rated fuel line doesn't blow with the higher pressures so must be run at the very least between the tank and fuel rail. There may be regulations in regards to running ANY non EFI rated fuel line in a EFI car so the return line may have to be replaced as well.

i read in a magazine about an AE85 with a silvertop conversion.

they blocked the return line for the fuel, the result, 80-100psi in the lines + injector rail LOL.

they also forced open all 4 throttle bodys, made a custom plenium, measuring 4-6 Litres, and a tiny throttle body slapped to it, got fast flowing air? no no they didnt :D.

um, zoom magazine, import conversions issue :).
