tacho needle sticking ?

Hi I own a 92 GTZ and the needle keeps sticking on 5000 revs , what could be causing this ? , once its stuck there it dont move untill the car is turned off no matter what revs its pulling ?

lol my spedo goes funny after about 95 km/h. goes up in about 10km incriments 8)

Unlikely as it may be......

But I had the same problem on my charade some years ago - turned out the tacho needle was hitting the dash glass and getting stuck. Dad ficed it one day by snapping the needle in two (not deliberately) and gluing it back on an angle so it would clear the dash glass

Unlikely as I said, but possibility mybe if your car gets really hot, might have warped the tach needle enough to hit the glass
