Reinforcing AE82

Hey,
I have just picked up another AE82 liftback for nothing and am wanting to use it as a beach buggy. The plan is to chop the roof off from the B pillars back.

What would be the easiest way to reinforce the back end? I was thinking just welding two pieces of roll cage tubing from the top of the B pillars angled down to the back of the boot (probably using plates at the back and bolting through the floor).

Will this be enough to stop it folding? It wont get a very hard time like doing jumps etc just driving up and down the beach.

haha cool..

id weld a bar across the top between the b pillars aswell.
spose it depends on how long you want it to last!
are the bars gunna be an actual roll bar? or just to replace the strength lost when u chop off the c pillars

Haha, no Im not planning on rolling it, just something to get the strength back.

Will it be OK welded straight to the B pillar(I will probably beef up the pillar a bit where im welding to)?.

I thought it was time to do something like this since I live 30 seconds from a nearly deserted beach!

well if its welded right it should be ok...
but its been sooo long since i welded im not gunna give any advice on welding!
