External Injection Fuel Pumps

Postby 85AW20v » Sun Feb 06, 2005 10:54 pm

Any ideas which cars run these as I need to fit a surge pot to the AW and need the extra pump for fuel delivery to the injectors. The in-tank pump will be filling the surge pot. Doesn't have to be Toyota.
See ya

Yeah VL's are the most popular, MA61's also run external fuel pumps, but as has been said aftermarket external fuel pumps aren't that expensive.

i'm running a 255 litre per hour internal pump for my external, i just used a large outlet with a bit of air compressor hose between the surge tank and the fuel pump inlet. works fine and saved me a fair bit of $.

cheers

yeh as mentioned VL commodore pump. exactly the same as used on the rb20de/t skylines. usually not much more then $80 from a wrecker.

Bosch make some excellent external pumps, just watch the pressure of your replacement pump, may need a good pressure regulator
If it doesn't fit, force it.
If it breaks it needed replacing anyway!
