ke70-ke26 compatabilty?

Postby dxtawagon » Wed Feb 09, 2005 11:28 am

would a ke70 wagon diff be a straight swap into ke26 wagon?? are there any differences with overall lengths?, this is due to the 26 being 4x110 stud and im wanting 4x114.
also would it be possible to put the front struts and brakes etc from the 70 to the 26??
also do ke26 wagons have brakebooster??, if not does this make for crappy brakes?, can one be installed easily

looking at buying one but just want to sort out my options first
cheers

I think they are the same, easiest to just measure with a tape.

What engine are you putting in there?

easier to put a KE3* rear end/front end in, as the ke70 is too wide i think.
from what i can remember..i think they do have a brakebooster, but alot of people remove it.

you should be able to fit ke70/ae85/6 front struts in there (just use the ke25 top hats), as for the rear end im not sure.. if you have acess to a welder its pretty easy to shift the mounts in or out.. if your lucky you might not even have to change the drive shaft

for your brake booster. go down to bnt and get a remote booster, (bout $300+gst), you can mount them where ever you like, you can get them out of old hillman hunters as well, but by the time you rebuild them they cost bout the same.
