Compression Pressure for 4agze (afm + map)

Postby ~SlideWays~ » Wed Feb 16, 2005 2:06 pm

I've searched and can't find.

I need to know what the compression pressure should be on both the MAP 8.9:1 and the AFM 8:1 gze's

My MAP small port was at least 180 on each cylinder does that sound right? I'm just about to test my AFM big port now but i assume it'll be less because of the compression?

Plus is there anyway to do the test wrong and get a bad reading?

Thanks in advance. 8)

ok tested big port afm gze and they're all around 155psi compared to the Smallport's 180psi.

Would this be because of the compression ratio?

Are these decent readings for both engines?

Sounds about right. As long as they consistent then that should be good enuff. Dif testers give different readings so yeah sounds fine

I got 180psi on all cylinders on my small port 4agze and it seems to be in good condition so I guess yours is fine.

the only ways to get a bad reading is-

-Not winding enigne over sufficient amount of times. (roughly 10 comp strokes)

-Blowby past the gauge if not held in tight.

-Throttle not wide open.

-maybe if you bought your gauge from supacheap.

-faulty gauge. (see above)
