22r advice

Postby TruenoBoy » Thu Feb 17, 2005 10:17 pm

I just looking on what sort of oil to use for a 22r motor that is in a 1998 hilux? standard 15w40 be the best? should I use full mineral or semi synthetic? engine is in pretty good condition has only just done 100 000 and has been maintained well as there is no burnt on oil under oil cap or anything like that.

What type of spark plugs should I use standard copper plugs? or should i upgrade to platinums etc? (I am pretty sure the standard listing for them is just copper plugs)

According to NGK's website the correct plug is a BPR5EY with a 0.9mm gap, anything more expensive would probably just be a waste of money, change them every 20,000Km's
As far as oil goes there should be a sticker in the engine bay with the correct oil grade but 15-40 sounds fine and is what I'd use.
