i have a corona gtr, its a 2 door with a 2 litre 16 valve efi motor.
im wondering if these are good engines and what they will stand up to compared to other cars. its a 1988 :lol:

Those cars are awesome - go hard and go forever. My mate had one for his first car and thrashed the living shite out of it for 5 years, pulled 200kph once apparently. Rebuilt the
motor, thrashed it more and eventually cremated it.
You have a 3S-GE engine, have a look around here for more info...
It is a better looking version of the celica, ST162 model probably?

yeh it looks alot like a celica, alot more boxy looking almost like night rider :twisted:

A friend of mine's gt one wif a 3sgte transplant. Goes pretty hard : 237kw @ the front wheels. Dyno proven. Raced him @ puke a couple of times, and he blew almost everything away!!!!

These are good motors. I have the same engine which pulls a quoted 120kw at the engine. The only problems I have is

- Takes quite long to build pressure from cold start causing a 'clunk clunk' noise from the engine.
- Really really laggy low end response. Probably due to the big port design, the fact that T-VIS get jammed and the aggressive factory cam.

Other than that they sounds really good with a poddie. I've heard someone say they've had comments like 'woah does that thing have vtec'. :lol:
