on my loom there is a black/yellow wire running to the 14th pin, and the 5th pin is blank. it could just be that the pinout ive got is slightly different, but i presume if i take the lid off my ECU I can find out whether it should be the 5th or 14th pin right?

Yeah take the lid off and have a look, you may be looking at it upside down.

l1ttle_d3vil wrote:Now for the 4th wire...the black/orange (on the redtop loom) goes to a yellow two-pin plug with that fuse adaptor plugged into the end of it. whats this for? and do i need it? This is the only wire i can't find on my own loom. It also has a white wire running off the plug (not sure where it goes to).

I think thats the injector fuse, may go back to the ECU, yes you do need it.

Ill have a look at mine when I get it back and see where that other one goes to.

okkaaay. after much p!ssing around and counting the plugs upside down and wondering why nothings matching up...ive found this out:

red/black wire for the ignition timing signal, goes from the ECU to the green 2pin plug.
black/yellow wire for the ignition confirmation signal goes from the ECU to the same 2 pin plug (this is the plug that is in the very first picture).

the black power wire which goes to the big yellow plug for the fuse box is spliced off the black wires which go from the injectors to the ECU for the injector trigger signal. there is also a white wire running from the injectors to the ECU for the ECU power feed which is shared with the injectors.
would it still make sense/be OK to run the black power wire for the ignitor to a 12v power source?

just had a look at the yellow 2-pin plug which had the fuse adaptor in it...

the black/orange wire comes from the ignitor plug straight to the 2-pin plug/fuse. then the white wire coming out of the 2pin plug goes to the injectors and is spliced off to the ECU. i don't know what pin it goes in to on the ECU though as the plugs have been cut off.

is this white wire likely to be the same one which is used for the ECU power feed which i mentioned in the message above? only difference is that it doesn't go directly to the two-pin plug.
