Who has put a SC14 on a 4agze? looking for experience/advice

Postby neon_spork » Sun Mar 27, 2005 1:23 pm

Hey, I need to talk to someone who has put a sc14 on their 4agze. If anyone feels like chatting leave me a number and ill give you a call, other wise post on here :)

Im in the process of fitting one on and I am wondering if other people have made them fit with a redtop inlet manifold?

The SC14 is going to stick out a fairway and it looks like its going to be pretty close as to weather it fits in the engine bay.

Also I noticed that Badaz has posted that he swapped the SC12 pulley and clutch over to the SC14, I was wondering the reason for doing this is? The SC14 pulley has a larger clutch and very close to the sc12 pulley diameter.

I plan on modifying the bottom mounting bracket to move the SC14 10mm towards the crank pulley end of the engine to get the pulleys to line up, rather than putting a spacer in the pulley assembly.

Any ones experience would be appreciated :)

ye i was gonna say talk to badass as he has experience doing this and answered some of questions about it ages ago, are you doing this to a FWD or RWD setup ? with the FWD option from memory things get a bit tight and yes i think you have to modify the bracket etc but i know it still can be done, and there was someone else i asked about it on here with and mr2 which had it done and had very good results.

yep we done one on my mates gtz, fits easy peazy.

you need to grind back the original bracket at the bottom like 10mm so it brings the sc inline with the pulleys and then put some spacers in there.
also with the clutch, u hav to use the sc12 one and lathe up a fitting so it fits right and is inline with the pulleys.
A new top bracket has to be fabricated, the pipe at the bak of the sc has to be fabricated, the throttle body has be moved and another bracket has to be made.

oh the sc14 pulley has 6 V groves and the sc12 has 5, also the sc14 one is to wide and wont fit into the ang bay.

if u want to know more 027 4649716

We have put this on Freds car, but the ic isnt plumbed up yet so still waiting to see how it goes.

Badaz,

Which inlet manifold were you using with that set up?

My SC14 has a pulley with 5v grooves and a larger clutch than the sc12 so i was going to use that, I will have to try and decide if its going to stick out too far i guess.

Also looking at the bottom cast iron bracket, there isnt going to be a lot left if i take 10mm off it. Did you find that it was ok? I was also thinking of just taking 5mm from the bracket and 5mm from the mount on the SC

we just stuck with the standard 4agze inlet manifold.
oh your sc14 has a 5 grove pulley, thats very strange.

i'm not sure how many mm we took off, maybe it was only like 3mm cant remember now.
