2E OR ROTARY?

i had an 88 corolla with a 2e in it that never missed a beat it had a mild cam,headers,k&n and custon devilla carby and it put out 142hp at the fronts then i sold it and brought me a 1981 corolla dx with a 12a bridgeport rotary in it and it gives me shitloads of trouble im wondering if i should rebuild it (again) its got 56000km on the clock and never been neglected. i am also considering selling it and buying me this lotus7 with a rav 4 3s-fe engine in. any hints please reply rotors 4 life

142HP from a carby 2E isn't a bad effort! I'd say sell the rotor and drop a 4AGE in the hole.

Depends what you want to do and what sort of engine you'd like. With the 4AGE you can get a 4AGZE computer and loom and throw a turbo on for a bit more fun. Depends on how much cash you've got and how much you want to part with too for that matter

grab the 3sfe, rip it out, drop a 3sgte in, then... and only then, will you have a fast car .

Nice power from the old 2e-c, Ive got 95Kw's at the fronts from my 2e-t, But IMHO you should rip the rotor out and chuck a blacktop 4age in it

stuff putting a 20v in it, if your going to that much trouble get a 4agze or hell a 3tgte if you want something cheap and easy

Forget putting a 3SGTE in a seven. There is only so much power you can put to the ground in a bean can shaped 500kg car. The FE will give more linea power and be a faster and more comfortable drive (I can't believe I said that word in regards to anything on a seven). But the seven would most certainly be my choice, if its not your daily driver, or if you can put up with getting wet, f'ing around with crap weather gear, and chewing on bugs. I must be getting old.... a few years ago I would have jumped at the chance!!

however iv seen (in mags and tv) everything from twim hyabusa engines and 450hp cosworth engines in them......
not saying thats the best choice, but can be done! however it takes a SPECIAL kind of person to want to drive a 7 with that much power....

Yep. Cosworth engine was an option on the Westfields as was a Rover 8. I've seen a 4wd cosworth seven... which put the power down reasonably well on very expensive sticky rubber. The rover powered Westfields were slower than the 4 cly ones.

The twin engined Hayabusa seven was constructed by Z cars and held the 0-100-0 production car record for a while... until Ultima stomped on that one!
