oil pressure gauges

Postby deaf_rattle » Thu Mar 31, 2005 10:17 am

I want to run my aftermarket gauge, as the stock one on the 7mgte does not work with my stock gauge.
so the aftermarket gauge sender does not fit around the oil filter adapter.

is it possible to run a bit of steel pipe in any of the oil lines (probably to the filter) and get the correct oil pressure from there?

cheers

Will it not thread in or is there not physically room in that location? When I had mine installed in my 3S-GTE the sender needed taping with a die to adjust the thread ever so slightly. Hasnt leaked in several thousand k's so far. I have seen a remote sender set up on toyota owners club (UK) that someone had done on a Gen 7 celica. Detailed everything not that there was too much to it from memory.
