12R-18RGU compatibility

Postby lorona » Sat Apr 09, 2005 5:06 pm

hey everyone my daily driver is currently a RT81 corona fitted with a factory 12R & 3spd coloum change. I am looking at fitting a 18RGU but want to know what is compatible.....IE can i use the 12R sump and keep the 3spd as i dnt want to change the vehicle to floor shift. If so would it be better to use the 12R flywheel/clutch assembly or the 18RGU? Any help greatly appricated as i dont want to buy an engine that i cannot simply bolt in as i need the vehicle for work.

Thanx Tony

OK, this isn't helping you too much, but OMG! Does it have a bench seat? That would be SO pimping if it did!

hey man, should be able to reuse the tranny, but engine mounts i think are in a different place, may need engine mount from an rt corona which had an 18r. with 18r x-member and mounts from an rt its all bolt together..
