Why would you want to do this?

I don't think it would be a good idea.

The G head is designed for more power higher up.

The F head is designed for more torque down low, driving round town and what not.

Now I'm no ECU expert, but seeing as it controls the fueling, it might end up too lean down low and too rich up high. Because it's programmed for the G head. Of course, I don't know how much allowance the ECU has for adding or subtracting extra fuel from the mixture is...
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

why would i want to do this? basically because i dont want to have to re-wire my st183 for a 3sfe from the 3sge. i can't find any 3sge's and i dont have much time. just forked out for a head gasket job and the typical POS engine smokes like a biarch and is only running on three cylinders and boils the water like crazy.

It wont be ideal but should run ok, just make sure you use the 3SGE injectors.
