the fuel filter takes any dirt or foreign objects out of the fuel. If the fuel filter wasnt there there would be a good chance something could either get blocked in your fuel lines, fuel injectors, carbuerator or even damage or scratch your cyclinders. It depends what car you have???? usually around 50-70kms

Not like its hard... usually. Do it at every 50,000 if you want. Should be right with 100,000kms. Unless you're throwing dirt in with your petrol :P

Do you need a TRD one? Seriously, all they would do would be flow better and possibly filter worse at an extra cost to your pocket. PM Mr Revhead if you're after a decent price on Toyota/TRD bits

I changed mine about 2 months ago and back flushed it at work and it was full of crap. I'm assuming it was 125,000k's old.

Toyota ones are around $60-$65.

Use that and you'll be fine. What gains do you think a trd filter (if they make them) will give you? Que scribe...........not many if any

they are worth 10hp in a 20v

not, they dont do them.
fuel filter is a basic (if often overlooked) maintanence item.
should be replaced first service after buying a car i reckon.

just go to repco and get one, its only a filter, and isn't really a 'performance' item, so why bother (i think revhead said they don't do them anyway), and yes its easy to change.

besides which they're not visible unless maitenance is being done on a lot of cars so there's no point doing TRD fuel filters

hey i just looked at the toyota service schedule says the filter should be replaced every 80,000kms or 4years whatever comes first. they arent too hard too replace. its sometimes easier to remove the airfilter and air intke hose out of the way to acess it.undo the top hose bolt i think its a 17mm has two washers on it. then undo the bolt underneath. can be a lil tricky, you may need a pipe wrench or pipe socket for it. Then theres two 10mm bolts that mounts the filter. remove them and bobs your uncle.
