Stupid Question

I know this sounds stupid but is there a separate place to put clutch fluid in a sw20 or like most cars is it all in one with the brake fluid...

I dont know about the MR2 but I dunno what cars you usually see becuase every manual I've seen has a seperate reservior.

Most Alfa's I have worked on do.... including mine. As does my mates S6 RX7.

How is it do weird? You simply have a clutch slave cylinder operated from the clutch pedal (funnily enough ) which draws its fluid from the brake fluid reservior, and that system can also be bled seperately... how in the hell can you draw the conclusion the brakes will come on?

It is more common then you think! Alot of mazdas, many Vans, alot of European cars plus many more!

consider it a safety measure. If you havn't got brakes, you havn't got forward motion either!!

as a general rule, you won't run out of fluid unless something has crapped out anyway, therefore you shouldn't be driving it anyway!

The clutch master takes its fluid from higher in the reservoir so that if you should get a leak in your clutch system you will still have brakes! But if you get a leak in your brake system you could loose your clutch but I would be more worried about having no brakes!

The AW11 MR2 has separate resoviors for brake and clutch fluid. I'd be surprised if this changes in the SW20. It's very easy to tell. Just look to the passengers side of the brake master cylinder. There will be what looks like another brake master cylinder, but with only 1 metal pipe coming out of it. There will be either a hose going from the top of that cylinder to the brake fluid resovior (BG 323s have this setup) or there will be a seperate resoviour sitting on top of this cylinder.

The brake fluid and clutch fluid are seperate. In the front of the car, under the bonnet, you will find 2 resevoirs for brake and clutch.

okay the last car I had was a honda civic and the clutch and brake fluid went in the same place
