LEVIN 4AFE ENGINE?? MORE TURQUE??

Has anyone drivin or got a levin with the 4afe motor in it...

i have just got 97 levin and wasnt expecting much power
from the 16v 1.6ltr but proved me wrong, nothing like a 20v thow...

its got to the point were i want more power, everyone is saying put a 4age in it and turbo it... or put a 4agze in it...

but i want to be different so wat do u guys recon 2 do 2 incrrease tourqe..... at the moment i am pretty sure it is a lot lighter then a 20vavle to.....

there are alot of turbo kits and supercharge kits for the 4age but cant find anything for the 4afe

i highly doubt its much lighter than a 20v...

get a non superstrut 20v, and youll be weighing the same as your car...

mines 1040.... which is far from heavy.

seriously, build an engine up, then drop it in... dont go with a stright swap, youll get bored of it, want to mod it, which will require work etc, easier to go stright to a fully modded engine, then just do little adons.

good base is a 4age block, ze pistons, ze / silvertop conrods. blacktop head, qtb, turbo.

so many options to go from there (turbo choice, boost pressure, cams? etc).

but, it depends, how much $$$ u got?

yea im saving at the mo and just looking at options but i want to put something in with piss all maintance... i here that a supercharger will last longer and easyer to maintain then a turbo ??? is this tru???

look on google you will find american toyota forums will cover 4afe's alot, adding turbos and stuff as alot of there cars came with them since they didnt get many 4age's

Bill Sherwood also did huge amounts of computer simulation and considered the narrow included angle of the FE head better for the massive power he was seeking. I see that hes now abondoned that project, so I guess we'll never know if it was capable of out performing the GE.
