LS400 seats in a AE101 and the law

hey i was just wondering if any one had done anything like this and if they have how hard is it to do

would i need a cert if i could get the original rails to bolt up

do they actually physically fit into the ae101

and also where would i sorce somethingl ike that im not to worried about condition of the leather

and cost of the above ?

Chris,

In your car, you only have to get a cert if you have to relocate your seatbelt stalk, or your new seat doesnt bolt into OEM mounting positions.

Your best bets (If you want to avoid having to certify) would be to try and mount whatever seats you want to your exisiting rails (as your seatbelt stalk is attached to them) Or try and find a set of factory seats with factory rails with seatbelt stalks attached to them that will bolt into your OEM mounting positions.


Anything else requires a cert

im not to worried about cert

i would rather have that and have the seats its worth it

is there any shops that specialise in this sorta thing in auckland any one could put me on to

i was going to have the current seats retrimmed but if i could get these in there some how

and also does any one know about the electric side of things (does it connect up to the engine/computer any where or anything like that

also what is the LAW on putting seats in the back where a bench seat used to be

is there anything to be aware of

if there all bolted down properly would there be a problem ?

Those 8way ls400 seats weigh a fair bit for a seat, watch it dont throw your weight balance out :)
