While teaching a Subaru a lesson in how not to race an MR2 (not a boy racer up to speed limit then back off) I seemed to of hit a snag, about 5,400RPM there was a pop from the engine bay and about 1 minute later those lovely three beautifully red warning lights appeared on the dash board followed by the voltage meter looking very umm well un-powered.
Have checked the belt and that is still very much there, so I'm guessing *gulp* it's worse case scenario and is the Alternator itself that has gone.
Does anyone know a good place in Auckland to get this fixed? or a good place to get a replacement Alternator from? Happy Friday the 13th eh
