pritty sure your meaning the idle-up, its mounted on the top of the firewall factory, you can always just block it off for now (dont let air in after the afm :P)

Yep, coz with no vaccuum sensor, your ecu has no idea how much air is going through the intake, so doesn't "know" how much fuel to put through. Hence the splutter and die. This will happen to a car with the AFM unplugged too. Same kinda thing.

"good ol stoners", is your car AFM or MAP sensored?

heh.

If you read my post its a idle up sensor, its mounted to the firewall and yes its a vaccuum sensor. Its not a map sensor!

It may Fix the problem having this connected as it will pick the idle up if something is in use... brakes, powersteering.....

I cant rember what the wireing with the plug come off with out going and looking but it should be in the area around the VIN plate and windscreen wiper motor.
