4 agze inquires?

Postby Go_the_mini » Thu Jun 02, 2005 2:52 am

Im hopping to buy a 1975 ke30 soon and I would like to upgrade the engine. 1 because of power and 2 because of the convinence. It currently has a standard 4k and I would like to swap it with a 4 agze or if worst cums to worst a worked 5k. I semi understand the colour difference? black, blue and silver? or is there a red in there sumwhere? Was jsut wondering if someone could explain that a little more in depth. Next I would like to turbo it or have one already turbd, Which colour am I going to need for this? Obiously i want to keep it rwd so will i need to find a rwd engine. Is there any other 4agze apart from mr2's that are rwd? finally how hard will it be to switch a 4k and a 4agze as the 4agze is much more modern and im guessing has fuel injection and a computer? I have been told that a 4agze should bolt straight in?

The easiest engine swap, would be the bluetop 4age out of a carina/trueno/levin. Because it is a rwd configured engine.

NO 4agzes came with a factory RWD layout. They did in the mr2s, but that is still an east-west engine configuration, because it is mid engined.

IIRC, a 4agze is a PITA to try and make RWD, and so are the 20 valve engines. I think the distributor hits the firewall, or something like that. Among other things. :?
