Clutch peddle wont go out :(

Postby Corona » Fri Jul 29, 2005 7:52 pm

Curzing home from work tonight, and went to change gear as I normaly do (not racing or anything, just a normal upshift) put the clutch peddle in, and now wont come out. The only bit of luck was I was only 500m from home.
I have had a look at the master cyclinder, and the oil lines, and everything appares to be OK, the slave cyclinder is mounted as it should be, and the leaver the the slave cyclinder pushes appares to be free enough (not too sure if it is too free or not)

What else can I check? Or is it a split box/engine time?

Thanks

Neil

Drain the fluid out of it and have a proper look at the master cylinder, this is the case in about 90% of situations like this, something possible but would be very strange if it happened would be that the clutch pedal return spring let go, very very strange.
If you can pull your pedal up and it falls straight back down again i would say that the push rod has seperated from the the seal type thing that pushes the fluid in, seen it happen before! So clutch is permantently depressed sort of feeling!

Pull back the seal on the clutch slave cylinder and see if it is full of fluid. The seals in the slave cylinder may have gone.
