Adjustable cam gears st205

on a website, there is a adjustable cam gear for sale for 3sgte, if i pu this on my st205, what sort of gains can i get...or would i have to get this in conjuction with a computer? new turbo? ???

thanks...i have seen alot of these on evos on performance car, evos and gsrs.skylines and supra..but never a celica.....
Have you got the hots? for what's in the box with the dots? ..... 0800 30 40 50

they are usually not very good value for money unless you have aftermarket cams.

gains are usually made by playing around with them on a dyno.

To get the most from them on either standard or aftermarket cams you need a decent fuel/ignition computer so you can add/remove fuel/spark to get maximum gains. Depending on the engine you can get some reasonable gains fitting them with standard cams, but don't know anyone that has fitted them to a 3sgte that hadn't done heaps of other mods at once to just measure the gian/loss from them alone. Generally the newer the engine the less the gains will be due to better manufacturing processes meaning less difference between cams & gears etc from the factory.

As a side note, the majority of dyno's out there are repeatible or accurate enough to generally pick up the gains/loses when fitting components like camshafts or playing with plugs & plug gaps etc.
