steering box repairs

hey all, i've got an rt40 corona and i need to play with steering box, think its dying aye. Any one know of whether there is anything to be done to try and repair it or should i just try and find a replacement? Any help would be most welcome!

Ive done steering boxes before and generally speaking to avoid time and hassel replace it with a new unit. Do you know what type of steering pox it is, ie recirculating ball type? With/without power steer?

yeah, its worm and sector type, not power assisted. what part usually wears out? is it the bearings or the wormgear itself?
