Postby keseventy » Tue Oct 04, 2005 10:04 pm

heres the thing i got a t50 from an unknown car and i want to put it in my 4k, the imput spline of the t50 is 21 and output 20. if i used t40 bellhousing from a 5k corona, would this work?

im guessing the 4k/5k bolt-patterns are the same so that should be sweet, and as far as I know the only difference between a t40 and t50 is the number of gears so that should be sweet too.

someone else will be able to confirm though

Yeah he is right. But If theres a T40 attached to a 5K when you take the T40 out to get the bell housing count the splines on it if there the same then bolt up if not K50 time maybe??

Why not go for the whole engine no wof agent will pick a 5k from a 4k and you will have more power + a T40 at the least, everything except diff will be bullet proof and it's not like you cant find another K series diff there a dime a dozen.

Are big bearing and small bearing t50's bellhousings interchangable?

they are, but the input shaft bearing bit where is bolts to the bellhousing are different, so you need to just slot the holes to suit

5k t40s are usually 20 spline, so if the dude has a 20 spline t50 it will bolt straight on

yep sweet just wondering I have a t-50 from a 5k van that is 22 spline. Wouldnt mind putting the older 20 spline t50 behind it so I can use the starly driveshaft and save the 22 spline for a spare.
