I hit what felt like fuel cut while boosting in 5th gear on the motorway tonight, I didn't see a check engine light thoughI had my profec on the normal hi setting (16 psi) but I was reading today that there is a certian level of boost control via the pfc.....even without the additional boost control kit?? Would the pfc be setting it to a certian level and then my profec trying to make it go higher??

KiwiMR2 wrote:Well after last night I made the trip into town on my "low" boost setting this morning. Had a couple of sorta hard boosts in the lower gears and checked the peak readings when I pulled up to work:
Injector Duty: 34.8
Ignition Timing: 51 deg
Boost: 0.77 kg/cm
Knock: 18
From the gas station to work I tried a run on the "hi" boost setting (only 1st and 2nd gear pulls:
Injector Duty: 59.4
Ignition Timing: 52 deg
Boost: 0.92 kg/cm
Knock: 25
SO what does all that mean![]()

The injector duty cycle seems a bit damn low, you sure you've ring it all out to the redline?
fivebob wrote:I don't know how you change this one the hand controller, but the stock map has a boost setting of 0.80kg/cm2 so will boost cut at 1.05kg/cm2.
On the Datalogit settings page there are four possible boost settings 0.80, 1.00, 1.10, & 1.20kg/cm2. I assume there must be some way to select a different entry from the hand controller even if you can't change the values.
you need to run and review the trace map to see the timing advance youre running under WOT.With the ignition timing
KiwiMR2 wrote:Yep it worked.....saw about 1.22 kg/cm (17.3 psi) boost today with no issues, so for future referance the PFC boost control needs to be OFF to see above 1.05 kg/cm (14.9 psi).
