Radiator cap broke.

I went to take of the radiator cap and it fell to bits. Something is still in the radiator and it cant be reached. Which way does the water flow, ie could i take of the top hose and hope it gets pushed out.

best thing to do would be remove the radiator and back flush it. you dont really want to just hope it goes to the bottom as it may get stuck in the process of moving down.
not a big job to remove, flush and put back in really and it gives you a chance to renew the coolant.
