on ae82 bluetop 4age i put a k&n pod filter agers ago, all i did was take off the air box and put he pod on the tube now im wondering shud i have left the air box on as there were a lot of plugs that i took out of hte air box

Although ideally you do want them in the configuration they were in when the origonal filterbox was in the car, Ive seen heaps running just like yours without problem.
At the same time, it wouldnt be hard to make fittings on your existing setup to put them back into the equation.

All ya really need is the air speed sensor, it is about 50-70mm long and pointy black plastic thing. Has a green plug. This should be in your intake piping, but it will work 'ok' right next to your pod filter.
