Blue top camshafts...

Postby peas » Thu Nov 17, 2005 8:11 am

I have just picked up a pair of these for the GZE and wanted to make sure I haven't been messed about. Is there any simple way to positively identify them? My new engine is going in this weekend and while we're in there may as well change them over I thought...

What is the lift and duration on standard GZE Cams compared to bluetops?, Is there much h/p gain when upgrading to these?

GZE = 232degree 7.1mm lift

Blue Top = 240degree 7.56 lift

Yeah I was aware of that but I have nothing to compare them to. Just wondering if you can tell by dizzy drive/ oil galleries etc...?

And yes my research points to good things from Bluetop cams :D

Think they look basically identical from memory, just measure the lift you need anything to compare them to. If its 7.56mm then theyre bluey's.

Nah thats about right. Think got mine for $50.

Some people swap over both. Others just do the intake cam etc. All up to you and your research findings tho
