3S-GTE 'Dummy' Build Pics

Postby GT4 20 » Fri Dec 02, 2005 12:44 am

Rods were finished being shotpeened and polished last night along with the pistons, crank, flywheel and clutch cover, they went down to the engine balancer today.

Crank, flywheel and cover plate were loaded up and balanced to within a gnats whisker...

The completed rods. All weighed and within 0.01g of each other...

The lower end was then 'dummy' assembled to ensure that the deck height was okay. Within 1/100th mm from end to end.

Just awaiting delivery of the new TRD main shells before the final build can begin.

Very cool :) Liking the pics! Be sure to give us more. I quite like being able to see how things are done when it comes to engine bits.
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Sub $180. Price depends on how much work needs to be carried out.

I always thought the oil cooler pointed downwards on Gen 3, that oil cooler position seems like Gen 2 to me
