Hey

Had a look at a car today and it had a aftermarket LSD on the back, i couldnt tell what type it was but i could get someone to hold one wheel and turn the other with my hands, it didnt seem to offer much resistance, i thought it would take a fair ammont to break free. And yes it IS a LSD, no doubt.

Just wondering what the resistance between the wheels of a lsd reflect? I would think you would use a setup with less resistance on a loose track say gravel and one with a harder resistance on a tarmac track? But thats just my intuition.

It also had a little clunking noise when doing certain things, not a repeating nose just sounded like it was engaging or something.. or what ever diffs like doing while clunking
It made the nose when i would hold the wheel and turn it from left to right and kind of shake it like that you know? And i heard it a coupple of times when driving, like when i had fot down then off then down again i think. Memorys a bit hazy .

Cheers.

different types of oil, change the resistance of the clutch pads, which can make it more grippy, lock better, use 'shockproof',BNT, sell it.

the clunking could just be the pinion and crown knockingon each other as you accelerete/decelerate.

but oil makes a huge difference. i had my lsd tighted by steelie gears, with the shockproof oil, the car shakes and you can hear and feal the clutchplates slipping, but when i change to standard diff oil,its like driving a single spinner, and smooth as.
