Race Seats

Postby ShiRuBiA » Tue Dec 20, 2005 7:50 pm

I hate the seats in my car... Ok, its a Toyota Sera and im 6'2".

How hard is it to put a set of race seats in? Is it going to lower the height of my ass? I know they have to be certified and thats no problem.

I had the passenger seat out when i was installing the cd changer, and sitting on the floor was almost the perfect height.. Actually had some headroom!

And no, im not going to sell the car coz i actually like it :D

Cheers, Andrew

depends on what race seats you are putting in your car, as i got some momo seat fitted in my ae101 and it rose the height abit for some reason . . . so you might need to find the right ones. . .

good luck 8)

most seats will probably raise the seat more than lower it
unless you get a low rail ($$$) or modify the rail

Steel framed seat will sit you lower than fibreglass. You sink into them rather than sit on them.

yeh my seats raised aswell. What i did was got 2 lengths of steel and bolt them across the floor. i.e left front mount to right front mount. Then i just bolted the seat into those steel lenthgs, after i cut the brackets off the old seat and wleded them onto the new one
