Replacing desiel engine with petrol engine

Postby overcast » Sat Dec 24, 2005 9:35 pm

I'm converting my hilux 2.4 desiel (2L) to petrol (insert g series or m series model here).

A few things:

1. Do I need to change the fuel tank?

2. Will I need new fuel lines?

Any advise appreciated

you dont have to, but its generally easier to replace the tank.

1. for the hassles of cleaning it out, dont particularly want diesel mixing with your petrol.

2. most petrol tanks have an intank pump, saves the hassle of fitting an external pump, unless your engine requires a shit load of fuel.

fuel lines on a diesel are big enough, just flush them out with petrol when your fuel pump is fitted.
