Rear suspension rattle non S/S

Postby tomo1985 » Sun Dec 25, 2005 12:01 am

I have just noticed a rattle in my rear suspension afew days ago. The car is a AE111 carib non s/s. I put new shocks in it about 3 months ago. I've jacked it all up and found everything to be tight, springs are captive. The only thing I can think of is the sway bar with the arm coming off that the rubber seals have leaked grease not ay huge amount, so was thinking that this may be the problem. Are there any other common reasons this may be happening?

flogged out bushes in the rear (including swaybar) can cause knocking. Also make sure exhaust mounts are all good still- its not uncommon for an exhaust to contact part of the car over little bumps etc and sound like the suspension if the mounts are worn/broken or the exhaust was custom made and fitted not so well.
Cant believe im still a member here.

yeah iv checked all the exhaust and its all tight. Its only just started happening so I dont think its the exhaust. I'm guessing its the sway bar bushes does anyone know what the part numbers are for the arms that come off the sway they have a bush at each end.
