oops, I think I meant the air temp sensor lol.

Why do you think I'm posting here? To learn thats why, unfortunately I'm just not as mechanically minded as others are.

So, assuming that what I have plugged into the neck of the filter, is the Air Temp Sensor, is this an alright place for it??? And do I need to push it all the way in, or is half way in alright.

Halfway in... or halfway out ??

Postby jondee86 » Fri Dec 30, 2005 7:58 pm

The idle-up valve attached to the strut bar is a different design to the
one pictured earlier in this thread. The first type cannot function when it
is removed from its housing.

The second type has two hose connections and can be mounted pretty
much any place you like. It will usually take filtered air from the airbox
or from the intake ducting.

On the temp probe, the sensitive bit is in the tip (strange that :)) and
halfway in should be fine. The hole in the ducting should be sealed with
a rubber grommet or a flexible sealant to prevent air leaks.

Cheers... jondee86

Not having a dig at you, just most of this has been covered a lot and doesn't need to be repeated.

It will be alright half way through as long as its sealed.

Thank you jondee :) This is what was confusing me as the idle-up valves did look different, my apologys for the confusion of terms.

1998 - Fair enough and thank you for your advice, I did hit search before I posted, but have found that as with most of these forum types, the search usually turns up alot of random crap, sometimes stuff relevant, alot not often.

Zyros, I believe the black box you mention is a diagnostics box, not sure about moving it, but one of these guys will be able to help you with that.

Now, must get to building a cold airbox :)
