Garrett tubo gaskets

Postby BBBrad » Mon Dec 26, 2005 11:17 pm

All im after is a couple of the gaskets that go on the top 2 bolt oil feed plate and the 2 bolt oil return pipe on the bottom. The origionals were a compisite black/dark colour and had "a" embossed on them. I would imagine these are for aspestos? What can I use to make some more or where can I buy any around palmy north area.
Oh, they are for a to4e turbo.
Thanks.

As above, just use normal gasket paper. Ort else go see an engine reconditioner & see what they have available in the way of gasket paper's & then I normally just use a smear of hi-temp silicone sealer on each side as well. Even though Turbo's get damn hot I've never had any oil leak or water leak with this method.

Same thing goes for turbo exhaust gaskets if you can't get the right one, I just use some stainless shim paper & cut/punch out what I need.

im not trying to start a war here but....

Silicone does not belong on a turbo's oil & exhaust flanges,
i have seen far toooo many turbo failures due to silicone.
even a brand spankn new $3,000 IHI Truck turbo that did less than 20km
be for it came back to us, we didnt give them a warranty on it, that was a very expensive mistake.

Oil Feed & Drain gaskets are avail from most turbo speciailst,
same with turbine inlet gaskets.

we have gasket kits in stock to suit most turbos t3/4s & CT series and only $18.95 + Gst....

BBBrad you have a PM.

for my Garrett GT series I just use the T28 "GTiR" gasket set, it's fine. The materials are paper for oil drain, and metal for exhaust side in and out.

I don't use a gasket for oil feed, due to it being an olive design.

You can score a set of these gaskets at Alltech, about $15
No "stance", no "hellaflush", none of that bullshit. Nothing but no grip on full boost.
