ke35 corolla cigerette lighter wiring

what wires should be connected to my cigerette lighter in my ke35?

it doesn't work at the moment, and there are no wires going to the back of the lighter at all. should there be one or two?
there is a round bit of metal sticking straight out the back, and also a flat piece of metal off the side of the lighter. which of these should have a terminal going to them?

also, if you could tell me what colour the wires are meant to be that'd be helpful; it is a 1975 model sr coupe.

there is usually a earth wire on the base
and a power wire on the middle

ill hav to ask my mate hes got one
for the colours if u want them the wires will b there
sumwhere tucked away no doubt

it u hav 2 wires there put the black on the outer case
if u hav a test lite conect it to earth and test the power source and turn the ign on to check if u hav power
conect it and try it
