I'm running a gen3 3sge, S bellhousing and G starter motor.
With this combo you will need to buy a spacer from Fraser Cars in Auckland. Also get them to mod the metal sandwich plate that goes between the block and the bellhousing. This plate locates the starter in the right place to engage the flywheel starter ring.
I had to enlarge the starter bolt holes in the bellhousing and drill out one of the threaded holes in the starter and use a nut and bolt - this is so I could get both bolts in to hold the starter.

Y bellhousing... very similar to the S bellhousing (S bellhousing is the same as the C bellhousing!). Slot one bolt hole so it will bolt to the block.
Starter is on the other side but you will need to find a starter that will fit and engage the starter ring. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT STARTER TO USE - sorry.
Call me if you want a bit more info on how to set up the clutch fork and release bearing so the clutch will disengage!

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

there are 2 size 3sge ringgears/flexplates, if you have the smaller one you can use the fwd st163 starter motor, but if you have the larger flywheel then you need to space the 1g starter out 10mm.
with the y bell you might have to make the bit where the starter shoots out to engage into the flywheel a bit larger as the original y starter is offset to stick the starter motor in as i has a smaller flywheel, where as the c, g, s and t engines all have the larger flywheels, the space for the starter is larger in these. for the backing plate, just cut and weld one off a c,g,s or t engine and youll be sweet as
