4AGE Ignition coils

Postby Stealer Of Souls » Wed Jan 25, 2006 11:48 am

Hey there.
I'm looking at the ignition system for when I get my reconditioned blue top into my car and seeing if there are any areas that can be improved easily, cost effectively and with some benefit.

So a few questions...
One. Is there any benefit from changing the stock blue top coil to say a small port red top coil.
Two. Does anyone know what the turns ratio on a blue top coil is? Or on any of the 4AGE coils?
Three. Is there a good easy alternative for upgrading the ignition coil setup for a blue top? GZE DLI? Is there any point?

Engine in question is a blue top with 10:1CR, 8mm spiral wound leads, NGK Iridium plugs (BCPR6E-IX). Otherwise stock.

I don't claim to know everything... That doesn't mean it isn't true....
