4age flywheel problem

Just a quick question here, i built an engine up using 20v block and crank etc in my ae92 gtz a while back running the gze clutch etc and had no troubles but in my AE82 fxgt race car i'm using a bluetop flywheel and it looks to be sitting away from the block quite substantually and hitting the bellhousing on the gearbox. now using C52 . . The engine didn't turn over and i had to pull the box away from the engine to discover this. Would running a 20v silvertop flywheel solve this problem?? as i tried one on another engine of similar specs to the engine in my race car, and it sits closer to the block. I'd be running of course silvertop clutch if needed. I'm not going to use the gze box as i'd need to make a custom rear mount and want this up and running asap.

thats weird.....
so your basiclly using a stock ae82 setup....
is the flywheel hitting? or is it the clutch fork/thrust bearing doing something weird

20V flywheel is bigger diameter than a AE82 blue top flywheel.

Warwick: Yes i'm using stock ae82 gearbox setup but what makes me wonder is the flywheel sticking too far past the block as in hitting the bellhousing. 20v crank looks like it sits out further past the block than the blue top would but i could be wrong here..

I suspect the flywheel hits the bellhousing as i can't turn the engine at all!!, yes 20v flywheel is larger but does it have the correct recess to sit closer to the block?. I'll be pulling the box out to inspect what's wrong this weekend

early 20v use c52 aswell...

iv compared the cranks in that respect.
itll be an odd difference if it is

I have had a problem with a 3a powered fwd corona (at150?) with a c50 gearbox. I replaced the slipping clutch with clutch plate and pressure plate I had lying around.... Engine wouldn't turn over at all!!!
Take it all out again to find thatr the pressure plate was too tall and was jamming against the fwd bellhousing.

Well i sorted the problem, as suspected i had the wrong pressure plate,. Turns out i used a 2tg pressure plate as it looked like same but upon comparing it against a 4age one the difference is 15 mm in height. Pulled the box out and sure enough shiny bellhousing where the pressure plate had been rubbing when i pulled the box back far enough to try and turn it over.
Good lesson to be learnt: Always mark your parts you keep for future reference
