Nd help! What parts do I nd 2 swap 86 blue top to silver top?

Postby EVAN » Tue Mar 07, 2006 12:43 am

Hi! Everyone.
I've got a AE86 with standard 16v blue top. I found a good silver top engine and ECU today. I might buy it off to put on my car. What else do I need to get? If I got all the parts, What is the most important things I need to know to put the engine on? Thx everyone.

Intake and exhaust manifolds will be facing the wrong way, you gotta get those sorted, so's the water inlet.
No "stance", no "hellaflush", none of that bullshit. Nothing but no grip on full boost.

add up all the money it will cost to put a silvertop in your 86, then spend that money working up your blue-top

it will be faster and cooler

Yeah... what he said.
I think you will find the return on the effort to put a silvertop in, will be disappointing.

I think youll get better results if you put the engine IN the car, as opposed to ON it.

i assume you mean silvertop 4ages, in which case everything

including the fact smallport 4ages dyno more power or similar power as silvertops... (broad generalisation probably)

this will probably start an argument haha

On the same dyno, If so then that 20v is fuxored.
I think it's the old #@$%ed ones that give them a bad name, which just happenes to be most of them.
