sw20 hesitation/timing advancement

Postby gordon77 » Fri Mar 17, 2006 9:36 pm

hey my gen 2 3s-ge has a somewhat large hesitation around the 5g mark. apart from the obvious like injector cleaner, air filter replacement and plugs is there anything in particular that could be causing this?
it has 8mm ht leads, hot guns i think so could that be a factor?

also i thought it would be a good idea to check the timing at the same time. what should it be set at to run 98 octane fuel? and if it is out how would one go about correcting it? i mean the proper way of doing it not just turning the dizzy round lol :)

Gordy, mind if I give it a drive to check out exactly what you mean? Depending on how large the hesitation is, it might be the ACIS system, which adjusts the length of the runners, it changes over around there so there is a bit of hesitation.
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.
