Ok heres an update. I got he fx weighed at the Silverstream dump finally and the weight was....
1120kg. Just to restate, the estimated curb weight of an ae92 fxgt is 1020. I only weigh 60, and i had half a tank of fuel, so 1120 sounds about right.

Well last I checked, you actually drive the car while inside it.

Empty weight doesnt mean much, if you weigh 300kgs. :P

No, you misunderstood. :P
Unless you're being intentionally facetious.

When you're driving your car, you're always in it. So how is the 'dry' weight relevant at all, to real world performance etc?
As it's the 'laden' weight which really counts, don't you agree?

Empty car weight is like flywheel horsepower....

They're nice to know, but not what counts at the end of the day.

LOL @ you chaps...

Sure in a real life situation the laden weight, just like the power to the ground is more real world.

However, the figures the guy has been getting have all been dry weights.. so i'd have thought that you'd try and get it as dry as possible, for a fair comparison, all things being equal...

it bothers me not how the guy does it, i was just suprised to see he didnt get out of the car thats all...

maybe where you are they dont... never had a problem down here

I would have gotten out of my car, but its silverstream, i didn't want to be jumped by the hobos that live at the dump. Plus i know how much i weigh, so its not that big of a deal to do some simple subtraction ;)
