4k not starting

Postby scope » Tue Apr 25, 2006 3:46 pm

hey

when turning the key it just goes 'click click' instead of turning over and starting. does the starter motor need replacing or something else?

it's a 4k in a ke30

thanks

Most likely a flat battery from the sounds of it. Flick ya headlights on and see how bright they are and if they basically go off when cranking. Would point to flat battery

multiple clicks is usually the battery, single click is usually the starter contacts/solenoid.

Check the battery terminals, and the battery to starter motor lead, make sure they're tight, if it still does it, I'd say the battery is sad..

If you dont have a hill handy...

Run a piece of insulated wire from the positive battery terminal to a terminal on the starter motor. If it winds over its not the battery.

Promise only to use this trick on your car though.... :D :) 8)
