Changing side indicators

Postby Sick Puppy » Thu May 18, 2006 12:56 am

Hello everyone, since this is the second post in about 10 minutes, y'all can guess I'm in a modding mood- nothing major mind!

My Curren ZS has the clear front indicators and smoked rear indicators, but the side ones are the standard (crappy) orange. I want to change them to the white ones I've seen on a few Currens and on the newer Corollas nowadays.

So, erm, how do I do it? Since I'm a newbie when it comes to car stuff, I dont wanna screw it up...

I'm assuming I either somehow pry them off (highly doubtful), or I unscrew the interior wheel guards and remove them from the inside... Once again, any help would be appreciated- thanks!

im not 100% on that model, as have never done, but the majority of toyota side flashers are a clip in attachment. to remove you will want to unscrew the inner guards, then look at the back of the indicator. the lamp assembly will turn and unplug from the housing. then look at the sides of the flasher, there will pe a 'springy' clip side which you push, then push the indicator out- towards the outside of the car.
Thats a rubbish description, but once you have unscrewed the inner guard it should become clear.
Cant believe im still a member here.

There is a clip at one end of them if they are the same as my old Celica. You just slide a small screwdriver or blade under one end (There should be a small slot cut out of the lense, about 5mm long on one of the ends to indicate which one) push in towards where the bulb would be and prise it up.

I actually have a couple of clear side indicators that were destined for my Celica before I sold it but Im not 100% sure about fitment as they came in a Jap import fresh off the boat. PM if you are interested...
