I have a 1997 starlet glanza V, it's had a bit of work done to it and was amking 156kw at the front wheels on 19psi until a conrod snapped. The whole bottom end is screwed plus a couple of bent intake valves. The internals were standard. I'm trying to figure out whether to get a second-hand shortblock and but aftermarket rods and forged pistons (really expensive as no off-the-shelf parts for this car). Or does anyone know of engine conversions been done, say from the standard 1300cc 4E-FTE to a 1.5l block. Any advice would be appreciated.

Heaps of people have made a 5efte outa a 5efe and a 4efte, duno what parts were swaped over but it has been done a few times that I no of. 156kws is fairly impressive, what mods have been done
