gearbox oil / sensor Q

Postby bluemaumau » Tue May 30, 2006 1:23 am

ok im gettting to a finished stage with the wagon now (touchwood)

when i get the dash loom in i wont be able to refrain from taking it for a drive.! :P

was talking to a toyota mechanic today, he told me to check if my car needed gbox and diff oil. i dont think it does as it only had one outlet.

but if anyone could clear that up it would be awesome.

box is e52 non lsd

also ive run into trouble with the spedo drive. ae92s are cable, and my cars ae101 = problem,

so i doubt ill have a speedo drive for a while so this brings me to another question.

if there is no speedo drive in the gbox will gbox oil piss out of this hole, or is it a completely different place?

btw e52 speedo drives are horizontal.

cheers

It will need oil. If you drained it you will need to put it back in.

And if you take the speedo drive out, yeah oil may leak. At worse maybe block the hole with something?

And dude, maybe you shouldnt take it for a drive until it's done......

Been there, and done that...don't want to do things half assed...

The E55F5 in my AE95 has 2 seprate drain holes, one on the diff, one on the gearbox, but when you fill the gearbox it fills the diff too.
