W57 Pushrod length!

Postby Quint » Thu Jul 27, 2006 11:30 am

Went to toyota and asked what the length of a pushrod for a W57 was, they wouldn't tell me, they'd only sell me the pushrod with the slave cylinder... So basically I need to know what length the pushrods in your W57s are :D.

So if someone could climb under their car and measure the length of their pushrod or the distance from the mouth of the slave cylinder to clutch fork when the clutch is engaged is, i'd be really grateful! I think when i first put it in (had to machine it up on a lathe out of a bolt) i made it too long and it burnt out my clutch before i shortened it, now i want to make sure it is the right length so i don't destroy another plate.

Took her up and over to kawhia yesterday (intense windy road), pushed her hard and on the way back the clutch was pretty much rooted, put your foot down in any gear and it'd start slipping.

Does anyone in hamilton or possibly whangarei have a W57 gearbox, Please let me know as i'd be happy to come around and climb under the car to check the pushrod length.

I have had similar issues as your describing leaking master cylinder was the cause of fault

Slave pin in same length thru all W5* box's mine is from a hiace

You adjust the master not the slave
